Well, I guess that I should have sent you a cc of a letter I sent to Melanie on 10/15/99, pertaining to Jenny's family. So, here 'tis, in part. Virginia "Jenny" Kirby married twice. First to Albert Broome of Goldsboro,N.C. abt 1940. They had only one child, Ann Broome. They divorced, don't know when.
Second marriage to Joe M."Tex" Armstrong. No children, but they kept and raised Ann, who would
spend a week or two with her father, Albert, in Goldsboro during school vacations, summers and Christmas, etc. "Tex", as I knew him, was in the Air Force stationed at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, And he and Jenny made their home in Myrtle Beach. That is why Jenny is buried in M.B.
I haven't heard of Albert in more than 45 years, but he looked pretty bad the last time I saw him, and I'll give a 1000:1 that he is dead. After Jenny died in '68, Tex went back to Millsap, Texas, and I heard that he died, though don't know when. Ann married 2 times that I know of, neither time produced any children. 1 st. to "Rusty" Donnevant, (real nice guy, from Virginia) 2 nd, to Charlie Owens of Myrtle Beach. Ann let both know early in marriage that she did NOT want children, that she prefered her horses and that the horses were her total life, to the extent that when "Rusty" was discharged from the Air Force and wanted to take Ann home to Virginia to live, she divorced
him rather than leave her horses and Myrtle Beach. The last time I heard from Ann was in 1972 when Helen died, and I don't know where she is now.
Will send more later about my children.
